ADBR: Accelerated Depth-Based Routing for Underwater Sensor Networks

It is challenging to propose an efficient routing algorithm for Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks (UWSNs) in terms of packet delivery ratio, end-to-end delay from the source destination, and energy consumption. The reasons that are UWSNs have unique characteristics (e.g. using acoustic channels instead radio communications), they dynamic topology due movement sensor by water flow. Depth-Based Routing (DBR) considers one well-known algorithms this context. DBR a very simple algorithm; however, it inefficient rate, delay, This study we developed adding accelerated routine improve its efficiency, proposed called Accelerated (ADBR). In ADBR, probabilistic mechanism used accelerate forwarding provide more multi-path destination. each node immediately delivers received destination with probability follows 1 – Pf. performance ADBR evaluated via set experiments J-SIM simulator. Experimental results indicate superiority over algorithm.
